Should you reconsider tight wind?
I have problems with the silver Prusa filament that came with my i3Mk2 printer. It is tightly and uniformly wound, each layer completely covering the layer beneath it. The problem is that this spool binds much more than any other brand I use, especially when the natural unspooling reaches either reel edge. When I re-spool it onto another empty reel in "scrambled" fashion, the binding problem goes away. This is not a problem of the reel having layers underneath other layers during manufacturing, it is the tangle that results from the natural unspooling of the filament.
I wonder if you should reconsider this tight (but nice looking) winding method. I've seen web issues with prints stopping mid-way with this filament, and I think the binding may be a contributor to this issue.
Is this a good question?
