Guide to pause and resume printing

Hi there,

I have experienced that after pausing and resuming a print job, the item being printed detached from the heatbed. My guess to why is that I lowered the heatbed temp from 55 to “0” Celsius (room temperature) manually and then when I preheated the heatbed again (before resuming the print job), the PLA detached.

Well, this is a guess, but my question is if you have a guide to “Do’s and don’ts” (or a “10 steps”) in regards to pausing and resuming a print job?

Kind regards,

Carsten

Hi Carsten,

if you use pause function in the printer's menu, the heatbed stays heated and only extruder cools down. The reason is to prevent the object from detaching as you experienced.

I will test it, but my guess is that it will work. Simple physics... :-) I used Astroprint where I manually lowered the temp. In the future I only lower the temp on the extruder.
