Thermal Runaway following hot end replacement.

Following an issue with the original hardware (and not being able to get a full Mk2S replacement from vendors) I've had to use an off-brand thermal block, heater and temp sensor.

These appear to have installed well. Self test and calibration print both work well. But when I print another model the temp drops quickly below the 15C threshold for long enough to trigger a Thermal Runaway error and print-stop. I'm using PLA with an initial target temp of 215C.

If I print something with a small enough footprint, the "other layers" temp drops to 210C before the Thermal Runaway triggers and the print continues. After a few minutes the nozzle head goes back up to 210C and completes the print well.

I'm looking for options to address this as any moderately sized print will take too long to lay down the first 2 layers before the heat drop. Or, any options to stop the initial heat drop.

Thank you.

Hi Jayme,

original replacement parts can be ordered from Prusa e-shop after you log in.

I'm sorry, but I don't have any experience with parts from different vendors, maybe some other users will be able to help. I suggest trying our official forum.

Thank you, but unless I'm missing something I don't see replacement hot end parts for the Mk2S on this site. The one hot end shown is for the Mk1 and that's permanently out of stock.

My official Prusa reseller in Montreal also can't get the parts I needed either.

That's the reason why I need to source the parts elsewhere.

Comments:

Seems like you've bought the printer through a reseller, so our system doesn't recognize you as MK2S owner. Please contact our support via live chat, my colleagues will help you https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/ (bottom right corner).

Also can you please tell me, who is your reseller? We will contact them and explain, how to order spare parts.
