Y end stop not being triggered?

I'm just at the Part 2 - Y-axis building phase. I have positioned everything right so far, the y-axis slides smoothly and the 330mm rods fit right in. I'm just having a problem with the y end stop not being triggered, I suppose - the metal part isn't popping out even when I touch the button on the other side. This is the same for the other end stop piece as well, but I don't know if that's not working because I don't have it attached to anything.

Also, when I pull the axis back, I can get the "click" to happen but I have to kind of force it a little bit. Not sure how I can adjust the rods further because it is not wobbling when I place it on a flat surface And when I put in the rods they fit perfectly so I can't tighten the axis any more.

I'm almost wondering if my stops are a different version because it doesn't even look like anything is supposed to pop out. Anyway, just wanted to stop building now because it could mess things up if the end stop isn't working.

Also, when I slide the axis back and forth, it's mostly smooth but a little "rough" when I slide it towards the motor, should I take it apart and try to redo it to be completely smooth?

Thanks for any advice

UPDATE:

@jakoob

Thank you for replying! Ok I really have checked every angle and am really not seeing where the y axis pulley is backwards? Am I blind? Can someone point this out to me? Also I THINK the y axis is clicking fine now, but still the end stop is not triggered. The bearing's gliding is a little rough but I don't know how smooth it could possibly get.

Hi Dylan,

compare your assembly with this photo from the manual, your pulley must be taken away from the motor's shaft, rotated and placed back. https://d17kynu4zpq5hy.cloudfront.net/ig...

Hi Dylan,

please make a video with sound, this would be the easiest way to troubleshoot it.

Also the pulley on the Y-axis is installed in opposite direction, please check this step again:

2. Y-axis assembly
