Pi zero W not sending wi fi signal

Hi

I followed the instructions for the octaprint.

I , first tried, plugging my i3 Mk3(brand new)printer usb into the zero w, applied power

gave it a minute to boot, used a wifi scanning app, but I got no port address.

I plugged the connectors into a pi 3, AND the sd card,(obviously) . This should , as with the zero W, send out a wifi signal, But it didn't. I then plugged in the ethernet cable, to the Pi3, and , hay presto, I got a wifi signal & Octaprint worked perfectly.

So the SSID & password, I entered is correct .

I could leave it set with the pi3 & ethernet cable, but this would be no difference to plugging the usb straight into the computer.

Any suggestions??

Hi Julian,

try downloading Rasbian, boot it on your Pi Zero W and try connecting to Wi-Fi. This way we can say, whether the Wi-Fi module is ok or not.

Hi Julian,

there is a slightly different setup on the latest Octoprint, the Wi-Fi config is moved to another file.

Also, check you uncommented the lines with your config (delete #).
