Move Z-Axis screen access

One of the suggestions in a recent answer was to hold down the button until the “Move z-axis screen appeared” - but I was not able to make that happen. At what point after the machine starts do you hold the button down? Everytime I tried holding it down, it just seemed to stop the process and I would have to restart.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hey there! I’m not from the Prusa Support team but may be able to help.

I didn’t know about this trick for a while, but I think I have it figured out. First of all, DO NOT try to hold down the knob as soon as the printer is on. If you do it while it is still booting up (the first screen for a couple seconds) it will think you’re trying to do a factory reset. I would wait until the info screen (the “Original Prusa i3 MK3 Ready.” screen) to display and instead of clicking the knob once for a menu, just hold it for a second or two and the z-axis movement should be displayed. If this doesn’t work, I suggest checking your firmware or reflashing if necessary.

I hope this helps, and good luck!
