Selector Blade keeps falling out, how do I keep it in?

Recently I’ve been cracking down on problems with my MMU2. I’m still working on layer skips and ground/flaky bits from filament in certain slots. I may ask about those at a later time, though.

A couple days ago, the little blade in the MMU selector kept falling out. It must’ve got caught on where the filament comes out from (the “mmu2-front-PTFE-holder” part) and got yanked out as the selector was moving to the right.

Although the blade seems to be OK right now, I’m not super confident that it will stay in there, as the gap in the actual printed part (mmu2-selector-finda) seems to be a bit shallow. Besides the parameters of the printed parts, is there any other way to keep the blade in place (like super glue)?

Thank you for your time!

Mathieu

Hello Mathieu,

Sorry for the delayed reaction. Besides re-seating the blade in the plastic part, there is not much to do. If you have a little file, you can try to outline better the slot for the blade in the plastic part, make sure the blade is perfectly in and carefully tighten the screw.

We do not recommend using glue!

Also, I’m sure you know this but for everyone reading this: please note that the blade cuts only in one direction.
